"It was great diving into the sounds of múm for the video - they posess an intense ethereal experience and we wanted to produce something which was similarly organic yet hi-fi by manipulating the hand made within the digital domain - the birds engage with the music to create a beautiful experience which has brought some people to tears! This essence is a step away from our normally hard edge approach but still divines other worldly experiences from
the everyday - it works with a similarly intense experience, avoiding a strong narrative to allow other dynamics to shine through. Obviously the location of the múm lighthouse was a perfect partner, elaborating on this with a fictional landscape which actually derives from Norway. The aurora borealis has been used not as a locational device but to extend the mythical and natural phenomena focus of the music and video."
